1-day excursion from Marrakech to the Ouzoud waterfalls

Overview:

After breakfast, departure at 8:00 a.m. for an excursion to the Ouzoud waterfalls from Marrakech, a 2.5-hour drive (110 meters), located in the middle of a stunning area. They are incredible in a country that is often affected by drought. More than 140 km from Marrakech, the land is red brick, saturated with iron oxide, contrasting with the green carpet of thousands of olive trees planted on the plateau. Olive tree translates to “Ouzoud waterfalls” in the local language, hence the name of these waterfalls… You will discover the waterfalls from the beginning.

To fully enjoy the panorama, we recommend taking the path on the left to reach the first level. From there, the view is simply breathtaking! There is not one but six streams crowned with a double rainbow thundering over the rocks in a cloud of droplets. The walls of this cirque are covered with mossy green vegetation, glistening in the sun. You can take a look at the pool about 100 meters below. If you are lucky and if it is morning, you may also see the macaque monkeys that live in their natural habitat.

It is possible to continue the walk to the bottom of the waterfall by taking a number of stone steps. The visit can also be followed by a loop behind the wadi. (Although it is preferable to get a guide to take you to some small caves, if you are not interested in going with the guide, you can go alone because it is easy to find).

A typical Moroccan lunch, a delicious vegetable broth, can be enjoyed at a restaurant overlooking the waterfall. After lunch, we will return to Marrakech and drop you off wherever you want or wherever we can reach by car, ending our 1-day excursion from Marrakech to the Ouzoud waterfalls.
